Whether you are an experienced Pinterest user or just starting out, BoardBooster needs to be part of your Pinterest strategy. For only 1 penny per pin, BoardBooster will repin your pins to group boards throughout the day. It’s a perfect way to automate your pinning so you can focus on other areas of your blog. As I mentioned in my Ultimate Guide to Mastering Pinterest, the shelf-life of a pin on Pinterest is 7 months, so it’s worth a few pennies per day to explode your website’s traffic through Pinterest. I began using BoardBooster three months ago and went from getting less than 700 page views a month to getting over 9,000!
BoardBooster works great for me and is helping to attract massive traffic to my website. However, the program can be very confusing at first and BoardBooster knows this. That’s why they offer a concierge service to set up your account, but it costs $150 dollars. The good news is that you can set up your own account for free with a little work. This easy to follow guide is your ticket to saving $150 by learning to set up and effectively utilize your BoardBooster account.
Step 1) Sign up with BoardBooster
When you sign up, BoardBooster provides 100 pins for free. This allows you to test the program before committing to purchase. It’s not one of those sneaky companies that will automatically charge you after the trial period is up. When your 100 pins run out they will send you a reminder to sign up with their monthly plan. At this point most people start out with the 500 pins for $5.00 a month option.
Whether or not you’ve signed up for the monthly plan, the remaining steps still apply because you’ll still need to know how to use your 100 free pins.
Step 2) Familiarize yourself with BoardBooster’s pinning tools
BoardBooster offers 3 pinning tools.
Campaigns – Will take pins from one secret board and repin them to multiple group boards.
Scheduler – Allows you to pin to a secret board which BoardBooster then repins to your group board on a schedule of your choosing.
Looping – Repins your own older pins to your board so your followers are more likely to see the pins you created before they started to follow you.
All of these tools can be valuable but to get the biggest bang for your buck while using group boards, Campaigns is the best option.
Step 3) Select a Campaign
Create a campaign by clicking Pinning tools at the top right hand corner.
Then select Campaigns and New campaign. There will be a popup that lists two campaign options.
Random Campaigns – Randomly select pins from multiple selected boards, and pins them to multiple boards throughout the day.
Scheduled Campaigns – Takes pins from one secret board and pins them to multiple boards according to a schedule you determine.
Select the Random Campaign to have a variety of pins posted to multiple boards at all times of the day.
Step 4) Setup your Campaign
Campaign Name – Each random campaign must be related to the same topic. Since I own a travel blog, my campaign is called “Travel”.
Source of Pins – First select List of Boards. Then select Add Board under the Source Boards banner. Your source board is where all of your pins will come from. You might already have a public board you could use, or you might want to create a secret board on Pinterest. Once you’ve selected your desired source boards, click Submit.
Repin To – Under the Target Boards banner select Add Board. Target boards are where BoardBooster will be repining to. Select the group boards you wish to pin to and click Submit. Next, you will also have to select how many pins per day you want to place on each group board. Before completing this step, read the rules for each of your group boards. Some boards don’t allow pinning more than three times a day or you could be considered SPAM and they will no longer allow you to contribute to their board.
I use the default settings for the remaining options because I want to pin each day of the week at the prime times of the day, which is between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM. I keep the Aspect Ratio Filter disabled because I want all of my pins posted, regardless of the size. You can change the Duplication option if you wish to set the minimum number of days for repining the same pin to the same board. Set the status to Paused only if you wish to pause the campaign.
There you have it! You are either all done, or you can repeat steps 3 and 4 to set up another campaign. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact BoardBooster at Support@BoardBooster.com. They provide amazing customer service, and you will most likely receive a response from the owner within the hour.
